This is a project I did for the high-dimensional statistics class. I chose this topic because I felt it would be a good concluding work for my undergraduate research (although there is nothing novel about this project.) All the previous things I’ve done in the direction of learning sparse functions are related to the engineering aspect. My goal is to, through this project, really understand the rich math people like Terrace Tao have done related to the restricted isometry property.
